Many families from Richmond, California, have emigrated from the the Mexican state of Michoacan - a place of which I knew very little. To overcome this deficiency, I took a sabbatical from my 5th grade teaching position in Richmond in order to understand the roots of my students' families.
The party never ends... May 15th was Teacher's Day in Mexico. Naturally, Jade had a vacation from school. I can't tell if Mexico puts forth a conscious effort to recognize everyone or if they just love a vacation.
